A collision involving two vehicles caused major traffic disruption during Birmingham’s rush hour this evening.
Emergency services, including police, ambulance, and fire crews, arrived promptly at the scene on Great Hampton Street in the Jewellery Quarter shortly before 6pm.
The incident led to the closure of the road near the Vyse Street junction, prompting police to block off the area for safety and investigation.

West Midlands Roads updated the situation on X, urging drivers to plan ahead and allow extra travel time during the disruption, then confirming the clearance of the incident as traffic returned to normal.
