Rule Change Brings Up to £3,750 Off on 59 Electric Cars in England Following Rachel Reeves’ Update

A significant update has been confirmed for 59 electric vehicle (EV) models across the UK, offering discounts as high as £3,750. This follows the Labour Party government’s increased funding for the Electric Car Grant, recently championed by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

In a notable development, Kia has announced that its EV4 model now qualifies for the enhanced grant, reducing its starting price to £30,995 with the incentive applied — a jump from the previous £1,500 to £3,750. Marc Hedrich, President and CEO of Kia Europe, explained, “Producing the EV4 locally in Europe strengthens our position in one of the world’s most competitive EV markets while ensuring advanced, affordable electric mobility is widely accessible."

This boost in incentives stems from Ms Reeves' Autumn Budget announcement last November, where the government allocated approximately £1.3 billion towards the Electric Car Grant, bringing total investment close to £2 billion to support EV adoption nationwide.
