Royal Mail has alerted customers that Christmas deliveries are “not guaranteed” across 92 UK postcodes due to ongoing logistical challenges. The announcement comes amid growing frustration from recipients facing delayed or missing parcels during one of the busiest times of the year.
A Royal Mail spokesperson commented: “We apologize sincerely for any inconvenience caused and appreciate our customers’ understanding. To reduce delays, we are rotating deliveries in affected areas and providing specialized support to postal offices struggling with increased demand to ensure service levels return to normal promptly.”
Many customers have taken to social media to share their disappointment. One customer, Anne, tweeted, “@BootsUK do you realize @RoyalMail sorting offices are overwhelmed, with parcels piling up and no one to deliver? Tracking is unreliable, and many customers haven’t received their goods. 151 postcodes including mine are affected!”
Another user, Helen, expressed her frustration online: “@RoyalMail your Deeside office is a mess. They claimed they couldn’t deliver my parcel due to no one being home, yet delivered another package. I paid extra for faster delivery of a critical parcel, but I’m still waiting!”
As Royal Mail works to resolve these issues, customers are urged to manage expectations and monitor their delivery status closely during the busy holiday period.
