Royal Mail has issued an apology to residents of Birmingham’s Northfield area following significant delays in postal deliveries. Several residents reported concerns, with one noting he hadn’t received any letters for weeks and describing the service as “shocking.”
The disruption has been attributed to severe weather conditions coupled with staffing challenges that have caused a backlog at the Northfield branch. A Royal Mail spokesperson commented: “Severe weather conditions and resourcing challenges have impacted deliveries in Northfield over the past two weeks. We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and our posties are working hard to restore normal service as quickly as possible.”
Residents are urged to remain patient as Royal Mail continues efforts to resolve the delays and resume timely deliveries.
