Izzy Hammond, daughter of former Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond, survived a frightening crash during a Formula E influencer race in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event was part of the Evo Series, a competition featuring well-known influencers navigating the Formula E track.
Just over a minute into her lap, Izzy misjudged a corner and collided forcefully with a bollard at the side of the track. This incident took place during the duels segment, where two teams compete head-to-head for points by setting the fastest laps.
Crowds and fellow influencers, including popular Sidemen members Behzinga and Vikkstar, watched nervously as debris scattered across the circuit. Medical staff quickly assessed Izzy’s condition after she exited the heavily damaged car.

Despite her vehicle being completely wrecked, Izzy reassured her team via radio, saying, “I’m fine, I’m fine.” Reports later revealed that brake failure contributed to her losing control as she attempted to enter the corner.
Commentator and Formula One legend David Coulthard observed that Izzy had “caught the back end” of the car, leading to the spin. Thankfully, she escaped without injury.
Izzy is no stranger to motorsport culture, with a significant following of 279,000 on Instagram, where she regularly shares her racing experiences with fans. Her passion clearly runs in the family; her father Richard Hammond himself has endured serious crashes in the past, including a 2017 crash in Switzerland that required air ambulance evacuation after his £2 million supercar caught fire.
This latest incident highlights the unpredictable nature of racing, but also Izzy’s resilience and safe handling of a dangerous situation on track.
