Rapist Jailed After Teen Victim Uses Clever Police SOS Disguised as Pizza Order

Abdul Kahar, a 41-year-old sexual predator, has been sentenced to over 15 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl he groomed online. The victim’s quick thinking helped bring him to justice after she called police while pretending to order a pizza.

Kahar first contacted the teenager on Snapchat last June, posing as a 17-year-old boy named ‘Jay’ to gain her trust. He arranged to meet the girl in Druids Heath, where he provided her with alcohol before assaulting her in his car. During the attack, Kahar also put his hands around her throat, attempting to silence her resistance.

After the assault, the teen remembered a TikTok video in which another victim discreetly alerted authorities by ordering a pizza during an emergency call. Emulating this tactic, she called the police control center from Kahar’s vehicle, requesting a pizza. The call handler, recognizing her distress, asked direct questions and confirmed she was in danger. Officers were promptly dispatched to the scene.

At Birmingham Crown Court, Kahar pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including two counts of raping a female under 16, four counts of sexual assault of a female over 13, non-fatal strangulation, and violating a sexual harm prevention order. He was sentenced to 15 years and three months behind bars.

Judge Sarah Buckingham condemned Kahar, highlighting his exploitation of a vulnerable young girl and dismissing his disregard for her well-being. “You are a sexual predator with a deep-seated attraction to underage girls,” she stated. The judge also noted Kahar’s role as a father of an eight-year-old boy and the shame his actions have brought upon his family.

Prosecutor Francesca Perera detailed how Kahar manipulated the victim, sending her inappropriate messages and encouraging her to meet up under false pretenses. The girl, who was in care at a children’s home, endured physical harm after being given excessive amounts of vodka.

Detective Constable Lauren Campbell praised the victim’s bravery and the call handler’s vigilance, affirming the importance of their roles in securing Kahar’s conviction. The outcome serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online grooming and the critical impact of swift, courageous actions in the face of abuse.
