Proposal to Transform Castle Bromwich Shop into New Pizza Takeaway

Castle Bromwich may soon welcome a new pizza takeaway. Palisade Properties Ltd has submitted an application to Solihull Council seeking permission to convert a retail shop in Rudgeway House, Hurst Lane North, into a pizza restaurant.

Local residents and stakeholders are now invited to share their views on the proposal before the consultation period closes on June 16. The planning application, identified as PL/2026/00039/PPFL, along with detailed plans, is available for public review on the Solihull Council’s online planning portal.

According to the design and access statement prepared by Architecture & Interior Design Ltd, the proposal involves changing the unit’s use classification from Class E (retail) to Sui Generis (restaurant). While the storefront and façade will remain unchanged, the interior will be redesigned for functionality and a fresh, welcoming atmosphere.

The new restaurant intends to operate with three full-time staff and one part-time employee, aiming to provide high-quality pizza in an inviting space that enhances the local community experience. The submitted plans also detail the seating arrangements, kitchen layout, and pizza oven placement on the ground floor.

Residents interested in commenting on the proposal can find more details and submit their feedback through the council’s planning website using the application number.
