Prolific Black Country Shoplifter Jailed and Banned from Local High Streets

A notorious shoplifter, Timonthy Lydon, has been sentenced to eight months in jail following a series of thefts across the Black Country. The 29-year-old, who has no fixed address, was charged with 13 counts of theft after stealing various items including food, toiletries, washing products, and alcohol from multiple shops in Dudley and Wolverhampton over a four-month span.

Lydon’s crime spree included incidents in Woodsetton, Bilston, and Wolverhampton, where he made off with goods valued at £250 from a single shop on Millfields Road on December 5. His criminal activities came to an end with his arrest on December 18.

At Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on December 19, Lydon received an eight-month custodial sentence. In addition, he was issued with an 18-month community behaviour order (CBO) that prohibits him from entering Bilston High Street and several specific stores on Mervyn Place in Bilston, Sedgley Road in Woodsetton, and Millfields Road in Wolverhampton.

Pc Josh Gorman of Dudley North highlighted the impact of Lydon’s repeated offences on local businesses and communities, expressing satisfaction that the offender has been brought to justice. The police remain dedicated to tackling shoplifting and protecting affected communities by imposing criminal behaviour orders on persistent offenders.

West Midlands Police urge residents to report suspicious behaviour through their non-emergency channels, emphasizing that emergencies should always be reported by dialing 999.
