Prisoner Flees for Second Time in a Week While Awaiting Deportation

Daniel Boakye, a 21-year-old prisoner from HMP Feltham, has escaped custody for the second time within a week, triggering a major manhunt. Boakye fled Lewisham Hospital on Sunday, February 15, at around 3:05 pm, evading police and security personnel.

Boakye, who hails from Alma Road, Enfield, is described as Black, of medium height, and slim build. At the time of his escape, he was wearing grey tracksuit bottoms and a dark Nike jacket.

This is not Boakye’s first escape. He initially broke away on February 10 while under prison staff supervision at the hospital. He was recaptured the next day in Thamesmead. Boakye was originally sentenced to six years and five months in prison for a series of knifepoint robberies involving £115,000 in cryptocurrency committed in July 2023.

Details surrounding his presence at Lewisham Hospital remain unclear. However, reports suggest Boakye was due to be deported to Ghana in the coming months.

Outside of prison, Boakye is known in the music scene by his stage name Dsavv. He was part of the rap group OFB (Original Farm Boys), contributing tracks like “Prince of the O” and “Still Want More.” Notably, his bandmate Kemani Duggan, aka Bandokay, is currently serving a five-year sentence for possession of a Tokarev pistol and ammunition with intent to intimidate.

A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police confirmed the ongoing search: “We are looking for Daniel Boakye after he absconded from Lewisham Hospital around 15:05hrs on February 15. He was in police custody receiving medical treatment at the time. Officers pursued him but were unable to detain him before he left the premises.”

Anyone with information on Boakye’s whereabouts is urged to contact police on 999 quoting CAD4005/15FEB or report anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards is reviewing the incident to understand the circumstances behind Boakye’s escape.
