Primark Introduces £13 Minimum Hourly Wage Across UK Stores

Primark has implemented a significant pay increase, establishing a minimum hourly wage of £13 for all retail assistants in stores across England, Scotland, and Wales. In London, the hourly rate rises to £13.71. This new pay structure is now in effect at all UK branches, including locations such as Birmingham.

Alongside the pay increase, Primark continues to offer its employees valued benefits, including a 15% year-round discount on products and other perks. Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark, highlighted the importance of this move: “As retail becomes a more demanding environment, our colleagues play an increasingly important role supporting our customers and the communities we serve across the country. By investing in increased colleague pay, we aim to acknowledge their dedication, hard work, and the vital contributions they make every day.”

This announcement coincides with Primark’s launch of its new womenswear campaign, “Shockingly Chic,” which celebrates affordable yet stylish fashion. The Spring campaign features ten curated head-to-toe looks emphasizing elevated, quality styles at shockingly low prices, with pieces such as 100% linen paper-pleat cocoon trousers and standout satin dresses starting from just £12.
