Enzo’s, a well-loved fish and chip shop and pizzeria located in the Scottish seaside town of Ayr, has recently entered administration. Despite being open for a relatively short time since 2024, the business appointed liquidators on February 6 but continues to operate for now.
The insolvency firm Begbies Traynor (Central) LLP appointed Kevin Mapstone and George Lafferty as liquidators to oversee the process. While no official statement has been released by Enzo’s, customer feedback remains largely positive.
Local patrons have praised the eatery’s diverse menu and quality food. One reviewer on Google, who gave the shop 4 out of 5 stars, commented on the exceptional quality of dishes like spaghetti meatballs and Hawaiian pizza, along with friendly and polite service. They encouraged others not to be discouraged by the few negative reviews, suggesting those are isolated incidents.

Many have pointed to the excellent value, with portions generously sized and batter on the fish described as “perfect,” possibly the best they’ve ever tasted. Families appreciated affordable lunch specials that easily satisfied even young diners.
Though currently navigating financial uncertainty, Enzo’s remains committed to serving the Ayr community, continuing to offer the dishes that have earned its loyal customer base.
