Popular Bullring Shop Russell & Bromley Announces Closure with Discounts on All Shoes and Handbags

The Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham is witnessing another retail loss as Russell & Bromley, a well-known footwear and handbag retailer, announces the closure of its store. Since the start of the year, three shops within Bullring have already shut down, and now Russell & Bromley is joining the list with closing signs displayed prominently in its windows.

All remaining stock at Russell & Bromley is now heavily discounted, offering customers the chance to buy luxury shoes and handbags at reduced prices. This closure follows the retailer’s announcement in January regarding financial difficulties faced by its parent company, which plunged 36 UK stores into administration. While a deal with Next has saved three locations, unfortunately, the Bullring store was not among them.

The British luxury shoe brand, famed for its craftsmanship and signature loafers, boots, pumps, and brogues, first opened its Midland store at Bullring in 2017. With this closure, the nearest Russell & Bromley outlets will now be located far away on the King’s Road in Chelsea, on Oxford Street in Mayfair, and at Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent. Customers will have to travel approximately two and a half hours to access these stores.

This news adds to a growing string of changes in Bullring. The SDMN store, launched with great fanfare by the famous YouTubers the Sidemen in late 2024, closed in January 2025 just over a year later. Three, a mobile network shop, has also shuttered its Bullring branch while maintaining locations elsewhere in the city. Additionally, the acai smoothie chain Oakberry confirmed its permanent closure in January after clearing out its kiosk. Despite leaving Bullring, Oakberry is actively searching for a larger site within Birmingham that offers customer seating.

The wave of closures marks a significant shift for Bullring’s retail landscape, affecting both consumers and the shopping centre’s dynamic. Shoppers will now need to adjust to these changes and seek alternative locations for their luxury goods and lifestyle needs.
