West Midlands Police conducted a significant raid on a factory unit in Small Heath, seizing 200 boxes of nitrous oxide canisters valued at approximately £30,000. The discovery took place at the Sapcote Trading Estate near Small Heath Highway shortly after 7 a.m. on December 16.
No arrests were made during the operation.
Nitrous oxide, commonly known as ‘laughing gas,’ is classified as a Class C drug in the UK. Possession and sale for recreational use are illegal. The gas is popular among certain social groups for its euphoric effects when inhaled, though it also has legitimate uses in catering, such as in the production of whipped cream.
