Police responded to reports of a suspected stolen 1,000cc BMW motorbike travelling at speeds up to 140 mph on the M6. The incident occurred late on September 30, when officers from Warwickshire Police and the Atherstone and Coleshill teams tracked the vehicle to an area near Exhall’s Bayton Road.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the motorbike parked outside a café. Witnesses and police reported that the rider immediately fled on foot, sprinting over a nearby fence to escape capture.
Alongside the motorbike was a quadbike, also occupied and subsequently abandoned by a 24-year-old man from Bedworth. This individual was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and possession of class A drugs. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
