Police Clarify Incident Involving Men Offering Ride Near Midland Train Station

Police have provided an update regarding an incident at Stone Station where three men were accused of attempting to entice a woman into a van. The situation arose when the woman was preparing to travel from Stone to Stafford by train and was approached by two men described on social media as being of “Middle Eastern appearance,” who offered her a lift in a taxi.

The woman, unsure of the men’s credentials and feeling uneasy about their behavior, opted to book a separate taxi for her journey. The incident reportedly occurred around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2.

Following the report, Staffordshire Police collaborated with British Transport Police to investigate the matter. Their findings confirmed that the men were authorized personnel providing a legitimate rail replacement service for passengers traveling from Stone to Stafford.
