Plan Submitted to Convert Birmingham Family Home into Eight-Bedroom Assisted Living HMO

A planning application has been submitted to convert a family home on Shirley Road, Hall Green, Birmingham, into an eight-bedroom House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) designed as assisted living accommodation.

The proposal by Encouraging Lives CIC involves remodelling the existing property to better serve residents requiring assisted living support. Currently, the ground floor includes a garage, kitchen, dining room, hallway, and lounge, while the first floor comprises four bedrooms, a study, and a bathroom.

Under the new plan, the dining room, lounge, and garage on the ground floor will be repurposed into bedrooms, with a total of five bedrooms planned for the upper floor to accommodate more residents. Some rooms will feature en-suite showers, while others will share bathroom facilities.
