Over 24 hours after a major fire erupted at Jones Skips recycling yard in Cross Street, Wolverhampton, authorities continue to advise residents and workers to avoid the area. Those nearby have also been urged to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution against smoke and potential pollutants.
The fire was first reported around 4:25 am on Monday, July 6, involving approximately 1,000 tonnes of recyclable materials. The blaze quickly spread to a large shed-like building and damaged some machinery within the yard.
