Alexander Webb, a former teacher at a Stafford school, has been permanently banned from the teaching profession after engaging in a disturbing sexual relationship with a pupil that involved almost 40,000 messages over six months. The 30-year-old exploited his position of trust, committing numerous sexual offenses while employed in an educational setting.
Webb not only maintained an extensive volume of communication—approximately 39,400 messages—with the pupil but also managed around 5,000 Snapchat contacts, including other students. He used deceptive tactics such as posing as a teenage boy on Snapchat to engage in inappropriate conversations with underage girls.
The Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) professional conduct panel found Webb guilty of serious breaches of teaching standards and conducted a thorough investigation. According to the panel’s report, Webb’s conduct was deliberate and sustained, fundamentally compromising the safety and trust expected in schools.

Webb began working at the Stafford school in September 2018. In May 2021, after allegations surfaced regarding his sexual relationship with a pupil, a referral was made to the multi-agency safeguarding hub. Police arrested Webb the same day, and a subsequent interview was conducted in February 2023. During investigations, police uncovered Webb’s creation of a false Snapchat profile to facilitate sexualized contact with teenage girls.
In December 2024, Webb pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including six counts of sexual activity with a child, three counts of sexual communication with a child, and five counts related to indecent images. He was sentenced in February 2025 to five years and seven months imprisonment at Stafford Crown Court. Webb was also placed on the sex offenders register for life and issued both a 10-year sexual harm prevention order and restraining order.
While Webb expressed some remorse during police interviews and disciplinary hearings, the panel emphasized his actions irreparably damaged trust and professional integrity. Webb acknowledged he had no desire to return to teaching.
The TRA panel highlighted the significant impact Webb’s conduct had on pupils, parents, and the broader community. His actions were deemed entirely unacceptable and damaging to public confidence in educators. Webb was absent from the hearing in June 2026, where the prohibition order was confirmed, barring him from teaching in any school, youth accommodation, or children’s home across England.
