A serene and scenic outdoor swimming spot is reopening for the summer season just 35 minutes from Birmingham. Aztec Adventure, located in Upton Warren near Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, is easily accessible off junction 5 of the M5 motorway.
The lake, naturally fed by a stream, offers a tranquil environment for open water swimming complemented by a charming café—the Boat Shack Café and Beach Bus—where visitors can relax with hot drinks, snacks, or ice cream after their swim.
Open water swimming sessions will kick off on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, running weekly every Wednesday from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm through September 9. All swims are supervised by lifeguards both on land and in the water, and sessions will only proceed if the water temperature stays at or above 11.5°C. Online booking is mandatory, and walk-ins will not be accepted. Swimming lessons are also available by reservation.

Visitors can also rent boats, paddleboards, or kayaks to explore the lake’s beautiful surroundings at their leisure.
