New Solihull Pub The Mallard Set to Open in Days

The Mallard, a new countryside pub situated on the 300-year-old Tidbury Farm in Solihull, is set to open its doors shortly. The establishment, managed by Brunning & Price, aims to provide a traditional pub experience featuring fresh food, cask ales and wine.

Planning permission for the pub was granted in February 2023. Recently, The Mallard was involved in a licensing hearing after applying to extend its alcohol sale hours from 9am to 11.30pm, instead of the previously approved 10.30am to 11pm.

Concerns were raised by local resident Keeley Fothergill regarding noise potentially generated by an outdoor terrace area, including conversations, laughter and general customer activity. However, Heath Thomas, representing Brunning & Price, noted that no official objections were lodged by responsible authorities and described the concerns as largely speculative.

Despite the discussions, the opening date remains firm. The Mallard announced that it will welcome customers from Friday 15 October. The pub will be located at Tidbury Green Farm, Solihull, B90 1QZ.
