New Outdoor American Food Court Debuts Outside Birmingham New Street Station

A fresh American food court has emerged in the outdoor space outside Birmingham New Street Station, marked by the exciting arrival of Taco Bell. This popular Mexican-style fast food chain, a favorite in the USA, is opening its first city centre branch right next to the well-known Louisiana fried chicken outlet Popeyes, which has enjoyed outdoor seating since it launched last July.

This compact food court offers diners stunning views of Birmingham’s historic Odeon cinema, the Bullring shopping centre, and the iconic Rotunda building, creating a unique urban dining experience.

Although an official opening date for Taco Bell hasn’t been announced yet, sources suggest the launch is anticipated by the end of April.

In addition to these American brands, Greggs has plans to open a new branch inside New Street Station. While the exact location remains unconfirmed, speculation is that it could replace the former Boots store, which recently relocated to the other side of the concourse. Greggs aims to provide indoor seating for travellers, enhancing convenience for commuters. It currently operates a kiosk near the Stephenson Street entrance of the station.

Separately, a juice bar named Fuel, located upstairs in Grand Central, has closed its branch recently, according to signage. However, Fuel continues to operate a store within the Bullring, where it will soon be joined by the arrival of Joe & The Juice, opposite the Sephora store.
