Tiger Bite, a fast food outlet located on Mill Street in Stafford, is applying for a new premises licence to extend its operating hours until 3am. The original licence, granted by Stafford Borough Council in 2023, allowed the takeaway to serve late-night refreshments beyond 11pm. However, this licence expired on April 1, 2025, due to the dissolution of the company holding it.
In 2023, the eatery was also granted planning permission to remain open after 11pm under certain conditions, including running a delivery-only service during late hours and restricting delivery times between 8am and 6pm.
While the initial licence application faced opposition from local residents and the council’s environmental health department, the latest application has not received any objections from these authorities, according to a Licensing Sub-Committee report. The proposed operating hours remain unchanged at 11pm to 3am.

The application, submitted by Sobeya Akhtar on behalf of Stafford Fastfood Ltd, has drawn some concerns from nearby residents and local businesses. They worry about potential nuisances caused by parked and delivery vehicles in the narrow street, as well as noise and disturbances, especially given the proximity of flats, almshouses, and a conservation area.
One local objector stressed the importance of enforcing existing restrictions, particularly parking limitations for delivery vehicles, to protect residents. Another commented on the likelihood of noise and disturbance from late-night customers, highlighting the challenges posed by the narrow street often blocked by illegally parked vehicles.
Stafford Borough Council’s Licensing Sub-Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday, November 5, at 10am to discuss the new licence application.
