Lickey Hills Country Park is gearing up to unveil an exciting new play area that promises to be a hit with children and families alike. Located near the visitor centre and café, this inclusive playground is designed to offer fun and adventure for kids of all ages and abilities.
Set for completion this July, the revamped play area replaces the previous facilities, which were no longer fit for purpose and often flooded. The upgraded space features a variety of engaging structures, from a rocking boat and tall swings to a circular basket swing that encourages social play.
Younger children will love the toddler adventure zone, complete with a cascading bridge, two-way talk tubes, a crawl-through shop window, and an infant-friendly steel slide. Older kids can explore the adventure lookout tower, tackle climbing challenges with a twisted net and balancing rope bridge, or enjoy a thrilling slide.

Additional features include a climbing wall, banister bars, lookout binoculars offering views over the Lickey Hills, a racking plank bridge, an overhead ladder, and a double hammock designed for socialising and relaxing.
Following a public consultation in March 2025, the project faced some delays but construction is now well underway. Visitors have already spotted heavy machinery at the site, signaling steady progress toward the playground’s much-anticipated opening this summer.
Families visiting Lickey Hills can look forward to a safer, more engaging, and accessible play experience, making the beauty spot an even more attractive destination for outings and day trips.
