Netflix Unveils New Thriller Series Adaptation of Best-Selling Novel ‘The God of the Woods’

Netflix has announced an exciting new television adaptation of Liz Moore’s 2024 bestseller, The God of the Woods. This poignant period drama promises to explore the complex dynamics of a wealthy family shaken by the mysterious disappearance of their 13-year-old daughter at a summer camp.

Set against the atmospheric backdrop of the Adirondacks in 1975, the series will delve into the Van Laar family’s unraveling as they confront dark secrets, class tensions, and the lingering impact of past tragedies. The show promises to be a multigenerational drama, revealing the consequences of privilege and power abuse through a suspenseful narrative.

Liz Moore herself will serve as showrunner alongside Liz Hannah, known for Minhunter. Both will also take on writing and executive producing roles. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series will have Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty as executive producers for Original Film. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is high for this adaptation.
