Murder Arrest Made After Woman Found Dead in Evesham Property

A 69-year-old woman was tragically found dead at a property on Brick Kiln Street in Evesham, Worcestershire, prompting a murder investigation. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 8:40 pm on Wednesday, January 14.

West Mercia Police have arrested a 47-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He currently remains in police custody as the investigation unfolds.

In an official statement, West Mercia Police confirmed, “A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman at an address on Brick Kiln Street in Evesham. Emergency services attended the address around 8.40pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 14 January) and a 69-year-old woman was sadly found dead. A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.”

Although police describe the incident as isolated, residents can expect a heightened police presence in the area over the coming days.

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Lougher, heading the Major Investigation Unit, addressed local concerns: “This incident will undoubtedly shock the community, but I want to reassure everyone that this was an isolated event, and there is no broader risk to the public. We are in the early stages of the investigation, and officers will be increasing their presence in the area while conducting enquiries to clarify the circumstances surrounding her death.”
