Sarah Helin, a loving mother from Swansea, tragically passed away suddenly at the age of 40 on November 29. Known by her family as “one in a million,” Sarah’s unexpected death has left her loved ones deeply devastated.
Her daughter, Jasmine White, spoke movingly about her mum’s selfless nature and unwavering dedication. “She had such a beautiful soul,” Jasmine said. “She was incredibly strong and raised me and my brother Jacob all on her own. She always did everything she could to make us happy, and I will never forget that.”
Jasmine fondly recalled the small family moments they shared. “It was always just the three of us. We’d go for little outings to the beach or for drives up to the Mumbles. She loved taking us out to eat, and that’s something I’m really going to miss — spending time together as a family.”

Calling Sarah her “mother, best friend, and sister all in one,” Jasmine described the immense void left by her passing. “Whenever I needed her, she was there for me and my brother. A piece of me is truly gone, and it still feels surreal.”
Since their mum’s passing, Jasmine and Jacob have been staying with relatives who are providing vital support during this difficult time. “We’re taking things day by day,” Jasmine shared. “My auntie and nan have been amazing. Although my nan is older, my auntie is doing a lot of the heavy lifting for us, and we have lots of people rallying around.”
Community support has also come in the form of a GoFundMe page started by one of Jasmine’s friends to help cover funeral expenses. Jasmine expressed gratitude for this help, explaining, “With everything happening, it didn’t cross my mind to start it, but it will really help with costs for the flowers and service.”
Looking ahead, Jasmine is focused on caring for her younger brother Jacob, whose birthday falls on December 18 — just weeks after their mother’s death. “He’s quite young and won’t fully understand, and boys often process emotions differently,” Jasmine said. “I’ll be there for him as much as I can, trying to make both his birthday and Christmas as normal as possible, even though it’s going to be tough.”
Jasmine made a heartfelt promise to her late mother: “Mam, I promise to look after Jacob and make you proud. You weren’t just my mother — you were my best friend. I don’t know how I’ll manage without you by my side, but I know you’re at peace now, watching over us from a better place.”
She also urged others to cherish their loved ones while they can. “Cherish every moment with your mother — there’s only one you’ll ever have. It’s hit me hard to realize I won’t have mine by my side anymore.”
