Much-loved Midlands Pub Sets Reopening Date Following Year-Long Closure

The much-loved Samson & Lion pub in Wordsley, West Midlands, is poised to reopen its doors on Friday, January 9, at noon, bringing new life to the canal-side venue after more than a year of closure. The pub was forced to shut down in late 2024 following a damaging fire that affected its premises.

Management expressed great enthusiasm about the reopening, with new pub manager Amy Bolton, currently in charge of The Haden Cross in Halesowen, leading the revival efforts. “We absolutely cannot wait to welcome everyone back,” said a spokesperson.

The Samson & Lion promises a welcoming atmosphere featuring a diverse drinks selection sure to satisfy all tastes. The menu will offer homemade food designed to appeal to the entire family, alongside dog treats available behind the bar, ensuring all visitors feel at home.
