M&S Slashes Returns Period to 28 Days Across All UK Stores

Marks & Spencer has announced a significant change to its returns policy, reducing the return period from 35 days to 28 days across all UK stores, with immediate effect. This update applies to both online and in-store purchases, aligning M&S with prevailing industry standards.

The new policy aims to streamline the returns process and accelerate restocking times. In an official statement, M&S confirmed: “We’ve moved our standard refund window to 28 days to bring us in line with other retailers and help get products back into stock sooner. The updated window still offers plenty of flexibility for customers, and all other elements of our returns process remain the same.”

This change coincides with the opening of M&S’s expansive new 18,600 sq ft food store in Farnham, which officially launched this morning amid enthusiastic customer turnout. The fresh market-style food hall features an extensive selection of M&S Food products, from everyday essentials to household staples.

First announced in May last year, the Farnham store opening has generated over 60 new local jobs. Store Manager Joe Bentley, joined by new recruit Lucy Rogers, the beloved mascot Percy Pig, and Farnham’s Town Crier Michael Stephens, celebrated the grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Bentley remarked, “We’re thrilled to bring the best of M&S Food to Farnham. The response from customers has been fantastic, and we’re grateful to everyone who came early to celebrate the opening. Our store offers something for everyone, whether you’re doing your weekly shop or just popping in for lunch, all backed by M&S’s trusted value and unbeatable quality. I’m proud of the entire team for their hard work and look forward to welcoming customers through our doors soon.”
