Morrisons Relaunches Free Kids’ Breakfasts and Introduces New Till Policy

Morrisons is reintroducing its popular free breakfast offer for children during the May half-term, providing families across the UK with a nutritious start to the day at no cost. From May 25 to May 31, children can enjoy complimentary breakfasts at any Morrisons in-store café by simply asking for a “Kellogg’s breakfast” at the till.

The free breakfast includes a choice of Corn Flakes or Rice Krispies, accompanied by dairy or non-dairy milk options. This initiative aims to ease the financial strain on families during school holidays and encourage healthy eating habits.

Matt Khan, Senior Trader for Morrisons Café, emphasized the company’s commitment: “We understand the additional pressures holidays can bring, from food costs to maintaining daily routines. Our Breakfast Clubs offer a welcoming space where families can come together to enjoy a balanced meal.”

This free breakfast program continues Kellogg’s long-standing support for school breakfast clubs, which has been ongoing since 1998. Additionally, Morrisons offers a daily deal where children under 16 receive a free kids’ meal with any adult main meal over £5.

In related news, Morrisons recently secured overwhelming support for a new pay agreement with USDAW, with 91.87% voting in favor. Eligible hourly-paid employees will receive a one-off payment ranging from £25 to £175 based on their contracted hours. Earlier this year, the supermarket increased the pay rate for Customer Assistants in line with the National Living Wage.

Jodie Keating, Group People Director at Morrisons, stated, “We’re delighted to implement this pay proposal to recognize and reward our colleagues for their ongoing dedication to our business.”
