Morrisons Encourages Shoppers to Stock Up on Seven Seasonal Essentials This June

Morrisons is urging shoppers to take advantage of June’s seasonal bounty by stocking up on seven essential household staples. The supermarket, with locations including Birmingham, has published a guide to the freshest, in-season produce available this summer on its website.

As one of the UK’s leading grocers alongside Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Tesco, and Lidl, Morrisons celebrates the arrival of summer with a vibrant selection of British produce. The retailer invites customers to “Savour the taste of sunshine” with a colorful array of summer fruits and vegetables, as well as premium British beef, perfect for BBQs and outdoor gatherings.

To inspire shoppers, Morrisons suggests creating dishes like a refreshing Sweetcorn Confetti Salad, ideal for garden parties, or indulging in a Plum and Summer Fruit Pudding rich with sun-ripened berries. From fresh garden ingredients to sizzling grills, Morrisons emphasizes that summer is all about enjoying simple yet spectacular flavors.

June is the perfect time to enjoy these seven must-have items featured in Morrisons’ seasonal guide, enabling customers to celebrate peak freshness and quality.

This announcement follows recent market shifts showing Lidl overtaking Morrisons to become the fifth-largest grocer in Great Britain. Lidl’s sales surged 8.8% year-on-year, reaching a record market share of 8.6% in the 12 weeks up to May 17, according to Worldpanel by Numerator. Despite this, Morrisons remains steady, serving over 10 million customers weekly and maintaining its market share without expanding store numbers, as confirmed by a Morrisons spokesperson.

Retail expert Fraser McKevitt from Worldpanel notes that the easing of inflation rates offers relief to shoppers concerned about rising food prices amid global uncertainties such as the situation in the Middle East.
