Morrisons is set to become the first UK supermarket to cater specifically to shoppers taking anti-obesity injections, such as GLP-1 receptor agonists, by launching a dedicated line of ready meals. The new range, created in collaboration with sports supplement brand Applied Nutrition, focuses on high-protein, nutrient-dense options designed to support fat loss and balanced eating.
Launching in January under the new ‘Small & Balanced’ banner, the exclusive product lineup includes 53 items across fresh, frozen, and ambient categories. Highlights feature GLP-1 friendly ready meals such as cottage pie, along with salad bowls, pasta dishes, ice cream, pizza, and more.
Lizzy Massey, Morrisons’ own brand director, emphasized the growing demand for convenient functional foods, saying, “Customers are increasingly seeking high-protein, functional food that fits seamlessly into their everyday lives.” She added that the collaboration with Applied Nutrition — a trusted brand in the health and wellness sector — aims to provide greater choice and excellent value.
