Morgan Rogers has expressed a touching farewell to Aston Villa after completing a landmark £117 million move to Chelsea, setting a new British transfer record.

In an emotional video shared on Instagram, the Birmingham-born midfielder reflected on his journey, saying, “Villans, where do I start? I’m just a Birmingham kid who had the honor of representing the biggest team in the city. That’s a proud moment for me and something I will cherish forever.

“Thank you all for welcoming me from day one, allowing me to be myself and express my passion on the pitch.”

Rogers played a vital role in Villa’s memorable season, notably scoring in the Europa League final as Unai Emery’s team triumphed over SC Freiburg, ending the club’s long wait for silverware.

“To lift that trophy in Istanbul with the team was an unforgettable experience, one of the proudest moments in my career. I am forever grateful for the opportunities Aston Villa gave me,” he added.
