Midlands Farm Proposes Shipping Container Storage to Increase Revenue

Rimmers Farm, located in Wichenford, Midlands, is planning to enhance its income by introducing a shipping container storage facility on its property. The proposal includes placing twelve containers on the farm, pending approval from Malvern Hills District Council.

With livestock operations having ceased several years ago, the farm currently focuses on crop cultivation and holiday lettings in an existing dwelling. Seeking to diversify revenue streams, the farm aims to lease these shipping containers privately for storage purposes.

The management anticipates that the expanding population of Worcester and surrounding towns will drive demand for convenient storage options. According to the farm’s plans, the storage units will be available for short-term leases with monthly payments, catering to individuals needing space for a variety of possessions.

Such storage facilities have gained popularity, and with urban growth in the area, the need for additional storage solutions is expected to rise. If approved, this initiative would support the farm’s goal of generating new income while serving the community’s storage needs.
