Kevin Beresford, a 73-year-old pensioner from Redditch, Worcestershire, has become an unlikely hit with a new calendar featuring notorious serial killers such as Ted Bundy, the Yorkshire Ripper, and Harold Shipman. Known for his quirky and offbeat calendars, Kevin came up with the idea while chatting over a pint at his local pub, The Black Tap.
Famous for creating calendars on unusual topics—ranging from roundabouts to bin strikes—Kevin was initially skeptical about the serial killer theme. “One of the barmaids said, ‘you should do a serial killer calendar,' and I thought, ‘who would want that?’” he recalls. Much to his surprise, after its release in October, the calendar quickly picked up popularity and became one of his best sellers, particularly on platforms such as Amazon.
Kevin worked on the project alongside his son Scott, 50, during the summer. Despite the macabre subject matter, the calendar has sparked curiosity rather than controversy, with no negative feedback or hate mail received. Kevin suggests that the success might tap into society’s ongoing “fascination” with infamous criminals, who are sometimes seen as almost mythic figures. “We’re all fascinated and horrified by serial killers. They’re almost heroes, like Hannibal Lecter. We almost like them. We are drawn to them,” he explained.

Kevin, who also founded the Roundabout Appreciation Society, treats his calendars as humorous “wind-up gifts,” often given to friends with a sense of irony. The serial killer calendar is available for purchase on Amazon, eBay, and through Kevin’s website for £12.99.
