Baby Krithik Nagarajan, a 15-month-old from Midland, has spent his entire young life in hospital undergoing intensive treatment. Born prematurely at only 24 weeks and weighing a mere 600 grams, Krithik has faced chronic lung disease along with multiple other health complications since his birth in March 2025.
Krithik’s parents, Shree and Babu Nagarajan, have remained steadfastly by his side throughout this painful journey, dividing their time between hospitals including Birmingham Children’s Hospital and, most recently, the University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, where he continues to receive care.
His mother, Shree, shared the profound challenges the family has endured: “It’s been really hard. He was born premature and weighed just 600 grams, with a bleed on his brain.”

Originally from India but now residing in Coventry, the couple have paused their careers to provide full-time care for their son, facing both emotional and financial hardships after more than a year spent in constant hospital settings.
Krithik’s health issues include severe breathing difficulties that require continuous oxygen support. He also cannot feed normally and relies on an NJ tube to receive nutrition, alongside other specialised medical equipment critical to his survival.
In a heartfelt plea accompanying their GoFundMe campaign, the Nagarajans wrote, “From the very first day of his life, he has been fighting a battle no child should ever have to face. Every breath is a struggle for him, but despite all the pain, procedures and challenges, he continues to fight bravely every day. While other children are learning to walk, play and enjoy life at home, our baby boy is still fighting just to breathe in a hospital bed.”
They have described witnessing their son’s continuous medical struggles as “heartbreaking beyond words” and revealed the toll it has taken on their own wellbeing. The couple have been unable to work during this time, compounding the financial strain as they juggle hospital bills and ongoing care costs.
“For the past 14 months, we have remained by his side full time throughout his treatment and care,” they said. “We never imagined we would have to ask others for help like this, but today we’re holding onto hope for our baby boy’s future. We humbly request your prayers, kindness and support for baby Krithik. Even a small donation or simply sharing his story could make a huge difference. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
