Met Office Reveals UK Regions Expected to See Snow from Wednesday

The Met Office has identified the UK areas likely to experience snow showers from Wednesday through Friday as wintry conditions persist across the country. Its latest five-day weather forecast highlights a continuation of unsettled weather, with some regions facing heavy rain early in the week before colder temperatures bring the chance of snow.

On Monday, February 9, the forecast predicts a grey and cloudy start with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in many areas. Southern parts of the UK will experience milder temperatures, but heavy rain and strong winds are expected to impact the southwest, increasing the risk of flooding.

Monday night will remain predominantly cloudy, with ongoing rain and easing winds in the southwest. Tuesday, February 10, will start dull with further rain and drizzle, followed by spells of heavy rain moving into southern regions. Some sunshine and showers are forecast later in the day, while northern and eastern areas remain cloudy and damp.

Looking ahead to Wednesday through Friday, colder air will arrive, increasing the likelihood of snow showers particularly in the north and east of England. The Met Office specifically named these two regions as being at higher risk for snow during this period.

BBC Weather echoes this outlook, describing Monday as mostly cloudy with rain pushing northward. Heavy rain is expected in the southwest, west, and northeast, with lighter, patchy rain elsewhere. Clearer skies will develop in the far northwest overnight.

As the week progresses, residents in northern and eastern England should prepare for wintry showers as colder conditions settle in, signaling the first meaningful snow showers for some parts of the UK this season.
