Met Office Identifies UK Regions Expecting Snow Ahead of Friday

The Met Office has released an updated forecast highlighting all UK areas expected to see snow before Friday, February 6th. As Thursday, February 5th begins, the country is bracing for further spells of wet and often windy conditions.

According to the Met Office outlook, Thursday will feature some bright spells, mainly in the northwest, while most regions will remain cloudy and wet. Heavy rain outbreaks are expected particularly across southern and southwestern England, south Wales, and eastern Scotland.

The forecast, which covers the period from Thursday through Monday, February 9th, specifically notes snow showers in certain regions, accompanied by cold winds. Snowfall is anticipated especially on northern hills, and the Met Office named affected areas, though not exhaustively, as follows:

Overnight, it will remain mostly cloudy with continuing rain and hill snow, especially in northern parts of the UK. Temperatures will stay cold and windy in the north, with milder and less windy conditions to the south.

Friday’s forecast predicts rain across most areas with snow persisting on northern hills and generally windy conditions. The northwest will see brighter weather with occasional heavy showers moving into the southwest.

During the weekend, unsettled weather will continue. All regions will experience intermittent rain, some heavy at times, alongside frequent wind. Northern areas should prepare for further snow and icy conditions.

Looking ahead, the BBC Weather team reports that Saturday will bring continued showers and patchy rain in southern areas, gradually drying and brightening later. Northern regions will experience drier weather, although northeastern Scotland will see ongoing rain spells.

Sunday promises a drier and milder day with rain clearing northwards, leaving behind variable clouds and a few scattered showers. However, Monday will return to cloudier skies with rain spreading from the south.

Residents across the UK are advised to stay alert to the changing weather conditions and prepare accordingly for snowy and wet spells in the coming days.
