McDonald’s Faces Backlash Over New Easter Menu Prices Reaching £7.49

McDonald’s customers are expressing frustration over a recent price increase on the Easter menu, with some items now costing up to £7.49. Notably, the price for six Spicy McNuggets in Birmingham and other locations has climbed to £7.29, sparking widespread complaints on social media.

One dissatisfied customer took to Facebook, declaring, “The prices are getting out of hand! May as well go to the pub at these prices but get a plate and knife and fork!” Others echoed this sentiment, with one user commenting, “Cheaper to buy Chinese or eat in a nice pub,” while another questioned, “Them spicy nugget prices don’t make any sense at all.” Concerns were also raised about dessert pricing, with a £2.59 McFlurry described as “wild” by a customer.

The new menu features several Cadbury-themed desserts, including the Cadbury Mini Eggs Frappe priced at £3.89, Cadbury Mini Eggs McFlurry Mini at £1.89, Cadbury Mini Eggs McFlurry at £2.59, and the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry variants following the same pricing structure.

Meal options have also seen price hikes. The 6 Spicy McNuggets Extra Value Meal is listed at £7.29, the 9-piece variant costs £7.99, and the 20-piece Sharebox is offered at £8.09. Burger fans can choose the Double Big Mac Extra Value Meal for £8.59 or opt for the Double Big Mac with Bacon Extra Value Meal at £9.49.

In response to the rising prices, a McDonald’s spokesperson emphasized the company’s commitment to value, stating: “Providing value remains an absolute priority. We continue to work tirelessly to ensure that every customer has a value offering that works for them. This includes weekly app offers that sit alongside always-on value offers like our incredibly popular Saver Menu. However, we refuse to compromise on the quality of our ingredients – and that means when these ingredients cost more, we have to review our prices.”
