A devastating fire erupted on Wednesday evening at a carpet factory in Tyseley, Birmingham, prompting a large-scale emergency response. The West Midlands Fire Service (WMFS) was first called to the blaze shortly after 7pm on January 7, initially deploying 40 firefighters to the scene on Steeleys Road.
As the fire rapidly consumed the sizeable brick structure, officials quickly doubled the number of crews to nearly 80 firefighters. Currently, 14 fire engines, three hydraulic platforms, specialized units, and fire officers remain actively engaged in combating the blaze at the Tyseley Industrial Estate.
Images shared by the fire service show towering flames engulfing the entire 100-metre by 40-metre factory. Firefighters confirmed that the building is now fully involved in the fire. Teams continue their efforts to bring the situation under control and extinguish the intense flames.
