Marvin Ducksch Returns to Training as Birmingham City Prepares for Home Clash

Marvin Ducksch has resumed training with Birmingham City after missing the entire pre-season due to injury. The 32-year-old striker suffered an injury during the club’s training camp in Portugal in early July and has only recently been able to return to full training on the pitch.

Ducksch missed the opening two league matches of the season and is not expected to feature in the upcoming match against Bristol City this Saturday. Head coach John Eustace offered an update on Ducksch’s progress, noting, “Marvin has trained this week and is looking better than he has been. He’s definitely fit and building up his training.”

The striker was anticipated to leave Birmingham City during the summer transfer window, which closes in just over a week. His recent return to fitness could influence potential moves, providing the club with more options in attack should a transfer not materialise.

Regarding the wider squad, Eustace confirmed there are no new injury concerns since the season opener, a 1-1 draw at Sheffield United. Taylor Gardner-Hickman and Marc Leonard remain the only confirmed absentees. “Everyone is good. There’s no major changes in terms of the squad,” Eustace added. “We’ve had a decent training week. Any bumps and bruises from the game seem to have settled down, so we’re in the same position.”

Birmingham City will be eager to secure their first home win of the campaign as they prepare to welcome Bristol City this weekend.
