Marcus Rashford Congratulates Tammy Abraham on Aston Villa Return

Marcus Rashford has extended his best wishes to Tammy Abraham following the striker’s return to Aston Villa.

Abraham, 28, has rejoined Villa in an £18 million transfer from Besiktas and is poised to make his second debut for the club in claret and blue this Sunday against Brentford.

A firm fan favorite at Villa Park, Abraham played a pivotal role in the club’s promotion to the Premier League during the 2018/19 season. That year, he scored 25 Championship goals, including a crucial strike in the semi-final first leg against West Bromwich Albion, and converted the winning penalty in the shoot-out at the Hawthorns.

This summer, Abraham attracted interest from multiple Premier League clubs but chose to return to Villa, a club where he feels at home. Aston Villa’s head coach Unai Emery has long admired Abraham and showed interest in signing him earlier. The club had planned to bring Abraham back in the summer of 2023; however, an ACL injury sustained on the final day of his season with AS Roma delayed those plans.

Last season, Abraham spent time on loan at AC Milan and started the current season with Besiktas, where he impressed by scoring seven goals in 18 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig.

Upon the announcement of his permanent move, both current and former players expressed support for Abraham. Among the well-wishers was Marcus Rashford, who previously spent a loan spell at Villa himself. Rashford took to Instagram to congratulate Abraham, writing: “Congrats, Tammy! Go smash it bro.”
