Man Suffers Severe Hand Injuries After Knife Attack Following Road Rage Incident in Walsall

A man in Walsall has been left with serious injuries to both hands after being stabbed in a violent assault linked to a road rage confrontation. The victim, who wishes to remain anonymous, was attacked following a dispute with another motorist on Bridge Street.

According to the victim, an object was thrown at his car, prompting both drivers to exit their vehicles and engage in a brief altercation. After parting ways, the situation escalated when the man was approached again on Freer Street by the aggressors.

As he attempted to avoid the attacker by moving to the passenger side of his vehicle, his foot slipped off the clutch pedal and stalled the car. This moment allowed the assailant to lunge with a knife. In self-defense, the victim caught the blade with both hands, causing significant injuries.

The wounds were severe enough to require a six-hour surgical operation to repair. Despite the passage of three months, the victim reports ongoing complications and an uncertain recovery outlook.

Frustrated by the lack of progress, the victim criticized West Midlands Police for their slow response and poor communication regarding the investigation. The police have yet to make any arrests.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police stated that inquiries are ongoing, including reviews of CCTV footage and searches of the local area.
