A man in his 70s was safely escorted home by Essex Police after being spotted driving a mobility scooter on the M11 motorway near Harlow, Essex.
Authorities were alerted at approximately 12:35 pm on Friday when witnesses saw the man operating the scooter along the motorway’s hard shoulder. Police quickly arrived at the scene to ensure his safety and temporarily closed one lane to assist with the situation.
The mobility scooter, partially covered by a blue and green rain cover, was clearly not suited for motorway travel. Police emphasized the incident as a crucial reminder to only use appropriate vehicles on major roads.
