A tragic incident unfolded in Tamworth on Halloween night when a man in his seventies suffered a serious head injury following an assault. Police rushed to the scene in Hayle, Belgrave, after receiving reports around 7:10 pm on October 31. The victim was promptly taken to hospital but unfortunately passed away four days later, on November 4.
Authorities arrested a 15-year-old boy from Tamworth on suspicion of section 18 wounding. Despite the arrest, the teenager was released on bail with conditions as the investigation continues. Specialist officers are providing support to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
