A 25-year-old man from Wednesbury has been charged following a series of alarming incidents involving an imitation firearm and a robbery in the Black Country.
Police responded to Bassett Road shortly after 9:15 a.m. on Saturday after reports of property damage and threats involving what appeared to be a firearm. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained. The weapon, initially perceived as a real gun, was seized and later identified as a BB gun through forensic examination.
Earlier the same day, at 6 a.m., a woman was reportedly robbed of her gold bracelet on Bromfield Crescent.

Malachi McPherson was arrested and charged with several offenses, including possession of an imitation firearm, affray, multiple driving infractions, and robbery related to the Bromfield Crescent incident. He remains remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court.
West Midlands Police emphasized the dangers posed by imitation firearms, which can easily be mistaken for genuine weapons and cause significant fear in communities. The police continue to prioritize removing such weapons under Operation Target as part of their commitment to public safety in the West Midlands.
