A Birmingham man who controlled a drug line responsible for distributing class A drugs in Tamworth has been arrested and sentenced following a major police investigation. Zain Alishan, 28, was detained at Birmingham Airport on February 6 after arriving on a flight from Dubai.
Alishan pleaded guilty to being involved in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin between September 2023 and January 2024. During this period, the notorious ‘Bobby’ line he managed generated approximately £15,000 from illegal drug sales.
He appeared before Stafford Crown Court on May 26, where he received a prison sentence of two years and nine months. Staffordshire Police’s major and organised crime proactive team led the operation that led to his arrest.

A police spokesperson explained that Alishan had traveled to Dubai following the arrest of an associate. The investigation, named Operation Target, targets serious criminal activity across Staffordshire, including drug trafficking, illegal firearms, knife crime, human trafficking, and sexual exploitation.
“The team works continuously to disrupt organised crime groups, protect vulnerable individuals exploited by them, and collect intelligence to dismantle these major criminal networks,” the spokesperson said.
