Man Appears in Court Charged Over Birmingham Airport Bomb Hoax

A 21-year-old man from Shirley, Solihull, has appeared in court accused of staging a bomb hoax at Birmingham Airport.

Abdullah Adam is alleged to have knowingly communicated false information to airport traffic control on 11 May, intending to induce a belief that a bomb was present at the airport. This conduct is alleged to be in violation of section 51(2) and (4) of the Criminal Law Act 1977.

The case was heard briefly before magistrates at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 9 September. Adam confirmed his name, date of birth, and address but did not make any further comments.

Details of the incident were not disclosed during the hearing. The case has been referred to Birmingham Crown Court, where Adam is scheduled to appear before a judge on Wednesday, 7 October.

Adam was granted unconditional bail pending the next hearing.
