Gandys, a prominent UK clothing brand known for its mission-driven ethos, has filed for administration following a sudden and significant drop in funding. As part of the administration process, the retailer has slashed prices by up to 75% across all products online and at its Covent Garden flagship store.
Founded in 2012 by brothers Rob and Paul Forkan as a flip-flop company, Gandys grew into a brand with a strong social purpose, supporting communities through its charitable foundation. Despite employing 15 people as of 2025 and operating an ecommerce platform alongside its standalone Covent Garden store, the company announced on March 25 that it had been forced to enter administration due to funding withdrawal.
Law firm Ellisons Solicitors is now representing Gandys in this process. The sudden closure news resonated deeply within the retail community. Jamie Irving, a well-known industry figure, expressed his disappointment on LinkedIn, praising Gandys as much more than just a product brand. He highlighted their genuine commitment to social impact and commended the founders' inspiring journey and the positive influence they have had on many lives.

Irving noted that Gandys exemplified what socially purposeful retail can achieve, and their closure serves as a reminder that even mission-driven companies face tough market realities. He extended his respect and best wishes to the team as they navigate this challenging transition.
