Lukas Jutkiewicz Confident in August Priske’s Success at Birmingham City

Lukas Jutkiewicz has expressed strong confidence in August Priske’s ability to thrive in the Championship, having supported Birmingham City’s decision to sign the Danish striker. Since retiring last year, Jutkiewicz has joined the club’s recruitment team and was actively involved in scouting Priske during his time at Swedish side Djurgården.

The club’s £6 million January signing has slowly found his feet, with Jutkiewicz praising the striker’s progress and contribution. “It’s really rewarding when you see the players you’ve recommended perform well for the club,” Jutkiewicz told Blue Rising, highlighting how Priske, along with players like Ozzy and Carlos, are settling in.

Priske took some time to adapt, scoring his first Birmingham goal on the final day of the season against Portsmouth. Despite the slow start, his aerial prowess enabled the team to adjust their playing style, and he became a regular fixture in the starting lineup in the latter part of the campaign.

Jutkiewicz added, “It was always a matter of when, not if, he would start scoring. There were moments like the disallowed winner against West Brom and hitting the post, but that’s part of a striker’s journey. Fans may not immediately acknowledge past performances, but here, everyone was confident in his potential. I’m excited to see his development next season.”
