Market Harborough, a vibrant market town in Leicestershire, has been recognized as one of the best places to live in the Midlands, according to the prestigious Sunday Times Best Places to Live list for 2026. Located just an hour’s drive from Birmingham, this charming town offers a unique blend of community spirit, excellent amenities, and beautiful surroundings.

The selection panel, which traveled extensively across the UK to identify standout locations, praised Market Harborough for its blend of appealing features. The town boasts strong connections to nearby cities, quality schools, and a range of shops, all set against the backdrop of picturesque countryside. Additionally, property prices in Market Harborough remain more affordable compared to many similarly desirable towns further south.

More than just facts and figures, Market Harborough exudes vitality and a strong sense of community. Volunteers play a crucial role, organizing events such as the popular Parkrun, which attracted 800 participants on Christmas Day alone. The town also supports a vibrant community theatre, cinema, the Festival of Cycling, and an annual summer carnival, all of which contribute to its lively atmosphere.
